Projects

  • Jadism creates a space that merges musical and visual elements to explore the transformative history of jade worship, emphasizing the religious status of jade culture in China. The videos on each side of the installation show the changing ways jade has been worshiped both in the past and the present. The sonic component of the work is composed of both soundtrack and narration. Where the narration explains the histories of the mythological worship of jade, the musical component, sampled from ancient religious rituals, features alternating drumbeats as a way to connect each scene, creating a ritualistic, almost spiritual atmosphere.

  • De-porcelain is a VR project which integrates sound, visual and interaction. It offers the audience a chance to break the traditional perfection aesthetic of seeing porcelain as a whole. Instead, it divides porcelain into pieces, aiming at discovering the fragmentation of porcelain and brings out the new aesthetic format of imperfection.

  • In this performance, the central character struggles through the disconnected relationship between humans and nature. As the narrative develops, she eventually discovers a new purpose away from the abstract and sterilized view of nature to an unmediated connection between human and nonhuman.

  • In this project, Gen Tech is bioengineering development, catered towards offering comfortable lifestyles in specific natural disasters. Designing daily used products in nondaily life.
